Time to Share!
Taking pictures of gardens has to be one of the most enjoyable pastimes ever! And if you can share that time with friends... well, even better! I spend quite a lot of time at Niagara Falls. My sister lives not far away so when I visit her, the Falls area is one of my favorite retreats. Summer or winter, it doesn't matter. Its always a beautiful environment. 
The Niagara Valley is one of the most beautiful garden areas in Canada. Not only is it one of the best wine producing areas in North America but they also have a famous horticultural school and it shows! This particular photo is inside the conservatory... a stone's throw from the Canadian Horseshoe Falls. The gardens inside and all around will keep any garden-lover enthralled for hours. If you drive down the Niagara Parkway a few miles towards Niagara-on-the-Lake, you'll find a gigantic clock-garden! Something really worth seeing! The horticultural students change the flowers and the design each and every year. Make sure you take it in when you visit Niagara Falls!
After several years in Saudi Arabia, I made a stop-over at my sister's and a brief recovery at Niagara Falls before heading off to the Yukon and Alaska and eventually Vancouver to study photography. In all three places there were gardens galore, but in Vancouver... Wow! There were so many gardens... it was overwhelming. Where to start? Botanical gardens are plentiful so that's a good choice. Lots of parks and gardens, too. It didn't take too many photos of gardens to realize this was exactly where I got my best shots. The outdoors, the peacefulness and the beauty! If you've cruised some other pages on my site, you've seen lots of my pictures of gardens.... now I want to see yours! So, how about sending me one picture... or more, and tell me about it? Need a few ideas and compositional clues? Head to summer gardens and you can pick up a few hints. Just one more idea before I leave you to it! Don't overlook a garden portrait of your friend or family member... or your pet! What about butterflies in the garden? What garden would you most like to share? Could be the garden you lovingly tend in your own back yard. Maybe its your friend's garden. Doesn't matter... we want to see and hear about it. And humorous... well, who doesn't feel better after a good chuckle?
Think of making this a "group" effort. Maybe you took some super flower garden pictures and one of your family members loves writing a good story! Then make this a partner effort and be sure to tell me your names... just so I can give credit to all sides!
